The AI visibility checklist for UAE businesses

20 checks that decide whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI can see — and recommend — your business. Every one of them is verifiable for free, most in under five minutes.

A. Can machines read your site? (6 checks)

The technical layer. In our Dubai pilot, 71% of testable sites failed check 2 alone.
1. Your site loads over HTTPS and responds in under 3 seconds.Check: open it on mobile data, not office Wi-Fi.
2. Structured data (schema.org) exists.Check: view page source, search for "ld+json". Or use Google's Rich Results Test.
3. An llms.txt file exists.Check: open yourdomain.com/llms.txt — a plain-text statement of your business for AI crawlers.
4. robots.txt does not block AI crawlers.Check: yourdomain.com/robots.txt — look for blocks on GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Bingbot.
5. A sitemap exists and lists every page you care about.Check: yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml — are your key pages actually in it?
6. Meta description and social preview (OG) tags exist.Check: paste your URL into a WhatsApp chat — does a proper preview card appear?

B. Are you registered where AI actually looks? (4 checks)

ChatGPT searches through Bing. Google-only registration covers half the game.
7. Site verified in Google Search Console, sitemap submitted.
8. Site verified in Bing Webmaster Tools, sitemap submitted. The most commonly skipped step in the UAE.
9. Key pages actually indexed.Check: search site:yourdomain.com on both Google and Bing.
10. New pages get pushed, not just crawled.IndexNow (Bing) and Request Indexing (Google) on every new page.

C. Is your Google Business Profile carrying its weight? (5 checks)

11. Profile claimed, verified, and 100% complete.Categories, services, hours, description — every empty field is a question an engine cannot answer.
12. The website field is filled in.Surprisingly often empty — which can make tools and engines conclude you have no site.
13. Reviews are growing and recent.Volume and recency both matter; a strong rating that stopped growing two years ago reads as stale.
14. You reply to reviews.Reply rate is public behaviour; silence is visible too.
15. Reviews mention your area and services.Reviews containing "Marina", "dental implant", "Afghan food" teach engines when to recommend you.

D. Does every source tell the same story? (3 checks)

16. Name, phone and address identical everywhere.Site footer, GBP, directories, Instagram bio. One old phone number is enough to look unreliable.
17. Your legal entity is visible and linked to your brand.Trade name and licensed entity connected on your site — machine-readable proof you are real.
18. You exist beyond your own site.Directories, maps services, local media — engines trust facts that converge from independent sources.

E. Are you measuring? (2 checks)

19. You have asked the engines your own buyer questions.Ask ChatGPT and Gemini "best [category] in [your area]" — this month, not last year. Record who gets named.
20. You re-check on a schedule with the same questions.AI answers fluctuate; only a dated, repeated measurement shows a real trend. This is how we build the mirAIreach AI Radar.
How to read your score: no single check is decisive — engines weigh converging signals. But the failures cluster: in our measured Dubai pilot, most businesses failed section A almost entirely, and it is also the fastest section to fix. Start there, then re-measure (section E) a month later.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my business's AI visibility for free?

Ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity the questions your customers actually ask — for example 'best [your category] in [your area]' — and see whether your business is named. Then check the technical layer: view your site's source for schema.org structured data, try yourdomain.com/llms.txt, and confirm the site is registered in both Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Each check takes minutes and costs nothing.

What is the most common AI visibility gap for UAE businesses?

Missing structured data and absent llms.txt files. In mirAIreach's July 2026 Dubai pilot measurement, 71% of testable websites had no schema.org structured data, and llms.txt adoption was near zero. Bing registration is a close third — ChatGPT searches through Bing, and most UAE SME sites have never been verified there.

Do I need all 20 checks to pass?

No single check is decisive; engines weigh converging signals. But the checks compound: a business that passes the technical, profile and consistency sections becomes safely quotable, which is the condition for being recommended. Start with the failures that take minutes to fix — Bing registration, structured data, NAP consistency — and re-measure monthly.
